  for me it was the book!

  it opened my eyes.

  i started it thinking it would just enlighten me about how the organisation works.

  @Mouthy - thank you for the good note about Mrs. Franz. I have read CoC and just received ISOCF a few days ago. The documented and annotated points are historical facts. The big WT has done many things which they condemn others for doing. The whole operation is just one big toxic boil.

  Life is wonderful once we detangled from the mind control and took back ownership of our lives. The local JW yokels have no authority over my time or choices. They still show up here at my door every few months, dressed in their elder costumes pretending to be my friend. Same old thing every time: "We're thinking of you, we just wanted you to know!" "Okay, thanks."

  Last time I had a dialogue with them, they asked why I quit the meetings. Then I began to tell them what happened. "OH, I wasn't aware of any of that, OH well, that's not why we're here to see you..." They can't do anything about it, they don't want to know anything about it, so why do they keep showing up?

  Next time they come they will see the neat little announcement I'm preparing to tape on the stairs: NO JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES PERMITTED. GET OUT.

  My granny died.

  last week friday i was delayed in going to work, for which i am glad.

  it was an opportunity for me to help my gran one last time.

  she thanked me, told me she loved me and that i would be very blessed.

  Sunny Witch, so good to read your post and thank you for that - i especially relate to what you said about how good it feels to find people who really understand what you've been through growing up as JW. My children and granddaughter have been through the wringer. I was not born in but like a poor schlub dummy, swallowed that love-bombing and joined up in my 30s.

  i heard a rumour that the uk hq is moving from mill hill in london to a location in essex near chelmsford.

  explanation being that it's closer to the transport networks.

  anyone know anymore?.

  i received the bootprint of jehovah on my ass 35 years ago.. i've missed a lot of meetings since that time.

  well, i can't say i've emotionally "missed" them!.

  while writing my book i had cause to reflect on what my life might have been had i not walked out of a kingdom hall for the last time in 1978.. what if i had gone on attending meetings?.

  in georgia, u.s. burglars are posing as jws, canvassing and breaking into homes.

  something similar happened a couple months ago in nevada.

  When I saw that news item i linked it on my twitter page!

  Quite a few years ago while out in field "service" there was a property with two houses, one in back of the other. The lady at the first house answered her door and immediately began hollering at us to get out, while latching the hook, and yelling at someone to lock the back door! The stupid ape "brother" I was with had gone around to the back house without waiting to talk to the first lady there, and she had seen him go around the side, and was scared to death.

  So it has been on some people's minds for a long time, that JW at the door might not be who they claim to be.

  just wanted to introduce myself.

  i've made a few comments here and there on the lovely jwn i started to wake up to ttatt this year.

  basically, i'm a born in jw and was baptized at 16. lived a double life until i wa 25 and beat myself up about it constantly.

  Welcome to you! You said it well, When I didn't go to meetings for two weeks I felt so happy and free. YES, that is right on! Because when you don't go to meetings you are not being scrutinized, criticized, judged, talked about, put down, lied about and made to feel guilty about any particle of success you achieve in life!
